Come to CNC for the total nature experience.

Since 1979, the Chattanooga Nature Center has been a leader in providing innovative environmental education to more than a quarter-million students in the tri-state area.

Educational programming is offered at CNC Monday-Friday, from 9:30 am - 3 pm throughout the year.
Your reservation must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.
After you make a reservation, a teacher packet will be mailed to you containing your confirmation, checklist, pre-visit activities, and map to CNC.
Call 2 to 3 months early to insure your spot — the program calendar fills up quickly — Especially October, April and May!
Price listed for each class is cost per student, for school groups up to 60. Add 50¢ per student for groups over 60. We may not have the resources or facilities to accommodate large groups. Large groups may experience reduced program content due to time constraints associated with larger group size.
One free adult for every 8 students is included in your price. Extra adults pay the admission of $7.
There is a minimum charge of $90 for field trip programs.

CNC Classes Are:

Fun Learning adventures in a "Living Classroom"
Inquiry-based Learning and interdisciplinary
Meet county, state, and national learning standards and Tennessee state T-CAP objectives for science and other subject areas.
Taught in small groups of 12 - 15 students with one Naturalist.

What about the weather?

Programs take place, rain or shine! Just make sure your students are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. If the weather is too severe for outdoor classes, your students will experience similar programming on your chosen topic, indoors.
