The Chattanooga Nature Center (CNC) recently celebrated the private opening of Paddler’s Perch. The nearly fifty guests enjoyed fabulous food provided by Hennen’s, wonderful bluegrass music provided by Fletcher Bright and the Dismembered Tennesseans, beer from Carter Distributing and donated Coke products.

Paddler’s Perch is an elevated, 625 square foot cabin that sits alongside historic Lookout Creek. It is now available for overnight rentals. The project also features a boardwalk, boat storage area and unique dock.

“People who stay over in the Perch are sure to have magical experiences – from hearing our resident Red Wolves howling and seeing turtles, heron and hawks – to camping in the canopy of the trees along the creek,” Tina Harvey Crawford, Director of Development and Marketing said.

The project was made possible through a $175,000 grant from the Lyndhurst Foundation.

Guests sang along with Fletcher Bright and the Dismembered Tennesseans, while enjoying the views of Lookout Creek from the Perch.

Amongst those attending included Bruz and Julie Clark, Eric Myers, Brad Shelton, Philip Grymes, Shawn Benge, Stephen O’Neil, Darde Long, Bud Ellis, Kay Parish, Dave Hopkins, Ralph Brown, Jeff Duncan and Jeff Pfitzer.
