CNC Animal Ambassadors - Opossum
Our male opossum came to CNC in the late summer of 2003 at a very young age. He had been taken from the wild and kept as a pet. He was improperly fed and has acquired a bone disease and is unable to return to the wild. He is the star of the classroom and many birthday parties teaching our visitors to respect the awesome opossum. He enjoys cat food, fruits, veggies and treats of fish, shrimp and scrambled eggs 6 days per week. He enjoys long walks each week.
Our female opossum came to CNC in fall of 2005 from a local wildlife rehabilitator. She was taken from the wild as a baby and held illegally as a pet and then surrendered. She was fed an improper diet and has acquired a bone disease not allowing her to return to the wild. She enjoys cat food, fruits and veggies and treats of fish, shrimp, scrambled eggs and rat pinkies 6 days per week.
