Great Horned Owls

Our male Great Horned Owl arrived at CNC displaced from his nest and parents as an owlet with 2 siblings in the spring of 1995. One sibling died, one was rehabilitated and released and this owl became imprinted and has been with us ever since. He is THE star of the CNC and can be seen on the pond perch and in the classroom. He eats 1 rat 6 days per week.

Our female Great Horned Owl came to CNC in the winter of 1998 with an eye injury from being hit by a car. The eye was later removed and she was unable to return to the wild. She lays infertile Holiday eggs every Christmas season. She is a very large owl and loves to take baths in the hose and in her pond. She eats 1 rat 6 days per week.
